THE ARTWORK
2008
Tracheostomized people is an alarmist and dystopian installation, created in 2008.
It presents seven tall figures made entirely in Soft Bubble with other small components of different materials.
Some previous Sof Bubbles (such as My Sax or My Shoes) have been incorporated into the base of the two busts.
They walk like businessmen, everyone with their own precious green-light briefcase, in a mix of
indifference and curiosity towards the last man with the red LED… What’s going to happen?
a.d. 2097: State Leaders, you’re too late, you were too slow to act

Created in 2008 as a protest against governments that have not signed the 1997 Kyoto Protocol for the reductin of greenhouse gases, the message to the heads of state is explicit.
The drastic reduction of oxygen in the air is caused by human behavior.
Man is destroying the essential elements of life, compromising his own survival.
From the same premises surrounding the Kyoto Protocol, ten years earlier the sculpture Metropolitan still life (1998) was created as the first profound reflection on the fragility of an individual, illusory and transitory well-being.

a.d. 2098: With relentless global warming, the oxygen in the air ran out.
To survive, man was forced to produce oxygen with a briefcase powered by photovoltaic panels, always carrying it with him everywhere.
By connectig the briefcase to the trachea, he managed to live without the oxygen mask, but he forgot everything, starting from his smile.
